Order arrived on time. Intended to use in car to connect iphone to stereo system. Cable works with ipods and newer iphones. Older iphones need a longer prong on the plug as this has a shorter one than needed. As long as you have a 3G network iphone it will work (my son tried his newer iphone and it worked great). Glad I had an ipod that it would work for.

This is the third item that I purchased for my vehicle so that I could play my iPhone or iPod Touch. The description didn’t really give too much information so I thought if it fit the IPhone it would work for my vehicle. If it would have worked for my car I’m sure it would be a great item. I have a 2009 Nissan Murano SL and I finally found the correct item at Best Buy with the assistance of the personnel that worked there. They just need to mention if it’s compatible for RCA auxiliary output and it didn’t. I will save the product to give to someone who may be able to use it. I don’t think it was a waste of money as the price was reasonable.

3.5mm audio patch cables are quite common, easy to find, and most importantly — cheaper. Shop around. Don’t buy into Monster’s marketing nonsense about their “highest quality” cables. If you must go with Monster, find the one with rough tough connectors, and find it cheap.
BUT ONE IMPORTANT NOTE….
Monster’s Mr. Gibbins’ claim that this is the “best possible sound” is inaccurate. The best sound quality you can get from an iPod specifically, is a DOCK CONNECTOR to 3.5mm cable, like this Cables To Go iPod-Compatible 3.5mm to Dock Connector Audio Cable. Cables like this utilize the unamplified, pure LINE-OUT audio from the iPod and lets your stereo do the sound control and amplification. (Your model may vary, but iPods’ Sound Check and EQ settings are in effect for line-out audio, so it’s best to disable those when you play it on other than straight headphones.)
Unless you already have a charger which doesn’t feature line-out for your MP3 player, this is not the best audio you can get from your device. If you don’t have a charger/audio combination, look for integrated solutions, like SendStation’s SmartCharge w/PowerCord or similar (look for products which use the docking connector, and feature an “audio out” jack). In the case of these products, they may NOT come with the 3.5mm audio patch cable, in which … consider a high quality audio patch cable like this. (If this sounds like a contradiction, remember that you’re connecting cleaner sounding line-out audio that comes through the docking port, NOT through the Headphone jack.)

It’s a cable. What can you say. Nice quality, but a bit pricey compared to what else is out there. Would make it 5 stars if the price was more reasonable, say under $10.

I bought this product for my iPod. I had no idea it would work for my cellular phone. My phone sucks most of the time. The Monster iCable plays my iPod perfectly though my car stereo and allows me to use my cell phone hands-free while driving. I would recommend it to anyone.
