ipod of new generation works neither video nor photos. in ningun side says perdi my money that is responsible for so great deceit.

I feel deceived in the purchase of my radius, this radius does not bring neither port usb nor for memory card, its only characteristic are the IPOD and in its publicity they do not say that the new generations of IPOD do not work my to understand is a swindle and there is no seriousness in its sales, I have always bought to pioneer and I regret to have bought a as bad product as this this same writing I will put it in amazon.com

    Dear Alejandro,

The new iPODS, [Nano w/video, iTouch, and "Classic" 80 and 160 gig] will play music on our radios, charge their battery, and the interface works the same as the prior iPODS did, i.e. with music, etc. However, they only play video or photos on their own internal screen. This is a change from the current iPODS. Apple made this sudden change and disabled the video out on both the 30 pin connector AND the headphone jack on the new iPODS for some reason.

We are working with Apple now to design in a special authorization IC to enable the newest iPODS to play video in our next generation of radios. We have no firm date on when we will have a product available that activates the video out on the new iPODS. There won’t be any adapters made for the older radios for the new iPODS.

I originally bought this unit because of its many features including IPOD control and the big one for me – multizone control. I was extremely ecstatic when I got this product. All worked as advertised for the first six months. However, soon afterwards, the unit started to fail after 60 mins of use. Of course, this was a huge disappointment, because most of the DVDs my kids watched is well over that time. I’ve had this unit from hell a little over a year now and new things seem to be breaking. As of 2 weeks ago, the eject button, the stop button, joystick and mute button have failed. My recommendation would be to avoid purchase of this product at all cost. It is definitely not worth the money. For a few more bucks, you can purchase a more reliable brand like Clarion.

I bought the radio and navigation module over two years ago. I still love the radio and believe it to work properly. some flaws, but overall happy. A year into owning it I returned it to JVC for service at it will not play DVD’s. It will always give me a “bad disc” message and spit it out. I mainly play “DVD-R’s” and believe this is the problem and the discs with labels are ticker than regular (original) discs. As another person stated, it will play a DVD for 30 minutes and start skipping until it freezes. this, i believe is a design problem, the unit apparently overheats quickly…

Once I got the unit back from JVC, which by the way was excellent customer service (once you provide them with copy of purchase receipt), the unit came back find, but I notice it will freeze after 30 minutes or so again…

DVD feature work like a charm, very accurate maps and software is as good as any other navigation device brand name.

I would love NOT to have had the radio serviced and for it to work properly once it was “fixed”, for this I took one star from my review…

The only problem I have is the automatic preset button is kinda big and in the middle which makes it way too easy to accidentally hit. I bought this radio from Circuit City during their going out of business sale. I love the radio and all the functionality that it has.. I can’t wait to expand on what I already have for it.

Bought this last fall. Not bad at first. I was really happy with it. Then, I burned some mp3s and things started going wacky on thye player. Some days I would start the car and the player would play in half speed mode–sounded like a demonic force belting out my music. Also, I cant play dvd’s now. The player states its a bad disk. No mechanical issues. I may have a virus of some kind causing the strange playback. DVD’s worked before I put Cradle of Filth in there….Spooky.
