This amplifier was enough to push two 12″ Pioneer subwoofers. I wired each of the sub’s into their own channel, although I could’ve bridged the two channels and probably would have got better results. The amplifier puts out enough RMS for average subwoofers, but if you’re looking for power for amazing quality subwoofers, go ahead and get a higher watt amp.
This is my second Power Acoustik amplifier for two twelve inch subwoofers. The first one was a basic 550W for two twelve inch kicker comps. I was extremely surprised at the power the amplifier was pushing since it pushed both the subwoofers no problem. Had to choose power acoustik amps for my second setup… Reasonably priced amplifiers with good performance.
Of course, for subwoofers a Class D Mono amplifier will usually provide the best performance. This does not mean that you NEED a class D mono amplifier, but most car audio suppliers will point you in that direction. It is still possible to push subwoofers with a 2 channel and possibly 4 (although 4 channel might be hard to get enough wattage out of each individual channel).
