This unit is sold to be used in a car but I purchased it to augment the low-end of a small PA system that I have. It has worked very well for that use. I power it with a 150 watt amp. I use a crossover so that it only produces frequencies below 125 hz. It is a true sub-woofer and produces a full sounding low end in small areas. Had I attempted this with a true “PA” sub-woofer, I would have had 4 times the money in it. Keep in mind this product was purchased and delivered to my door for less than $60. For the money, I am very pleased with this product.

The PYLE PLQB12 12-Inch 600 Watt Bandpass recieved a 4 star rating from me because it falls just short of the hard thumping and rear view mirrow vibration that I was looking for in my car. It does have good bass and has increased the volume on my Ford Taurus. Overall it is a great speaker and has added better bass and volume to my system so I’ll keep it regardless of it lacking the hard thumping and rear view mirrow vibration that I was looking for in my car. If I had the order to do over again I would have ordered a box with two subwoofers instead of just this one. If you are looking for a speaker that provides enough bass and volume to make your ears happy and still remain under the hard thumping bass that gets the cops to pull you over than this is for you. If you want that hard thumping bass that pisses off the neighborhood buy the dual sub box or spend more on a higher quality brand than this one. I’m happy with it and you can tell it was manufactured very well and provides the user with good quality bass and volume but only with an amp involved.

This is a good subwoofer for the price. Cheapest 12″ sub i could find. If you just want some extra bang for your system this is your sub. It hits pretty hard. It supplies a constant bass noise which subtract from the hard hits, but so do all cheap subs. it definately adds alot more volume to my system.
