These were quite a step up from the factory speaks which had deteriorated significantly from condensation (paper cones). Installed in a 1996 Suburban with little difficulty. I decided to re-use the factory connector on the old speakers, which required some soldering. Also, the mounting hole was barely big enough to fit the new Kenwoods, but they snugged in with a little elbow grease. These speakers sound quite good, while the low end is hampered by the poor mounting structure provided by GM; it is not near rigid enough, so the bass end is muddy and weak compared with what you’d get if the structure was solid.

These speakers fit perfectly in my 1986 Fiero GT. I pulled up an article for car stereo installers on how to determine which terminal on the speaker was the positive one (they’re not marked) and proceded to do the install. The speakers don’t sound quite as good as I hoped but they’re every bit as good as the factory dual cone speakers. A lot better in fact considering those were shot!

After doing much research I decided to purchase the speakers for my 2000 Chevrolet S10, it was a great buy. These had better sound quality then what I was expecting. Do not expect to get much bass out of these, they aren’t subs. You can’t go wrong with these speakers and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a good pair of 4×10 speakers.

I first purchased the boss audio 4×10s to give them a try since they were way cheaper. I first hooked them up and their lows were horible so i returned them. I knew a more reputable brand would have better sound, but would be more money. So i purchased these kenwoods. As soon as a i hooked them up i was amazed at how much better they were. Their lows were exelent compared to the off brand, Boss Audio. But when you buy a cheaper pair, you get what you paid for. These kenwoods were well worth the price. I think these were cheaper when i purchased them, but now they are almost 20 bucks more. I installed these in my s10, and they sound great. If mine in my truck went out, i would purchase these again. These are a must if you need a cheap price with the combined of high quality.
