Product Description
The Kappa 680.9cs component speaker system features 5″”x7″”/6″”x8″” woofers with responsive woven glass-fiber cones that won’t flex during a hard workout. The Plus One design offers a larger surface area for improved low-frequency output and efficiency, while longer voice coils add a little more punch to the bass. Large magnets keep the woofers running cooler by placing more steel close to the voice coils to act as a heat sink.

Ordered the speakers and they came in really quick. When I finally got around to installing them, the mids were nice and easy, but the tweeters were not.
The tweeters have VERY small allen set screws and when I saw them I knew they were going to be trouble. Sure enough I try to tighten them down on the wire and the supplied allen wrench striped. So I had to end up soldering the wires into the tweeters.
After that was finished (luckily I didn’t short anything out in the tweeters)and it was all installed I am very pleased by the way they sound. They make decent bass for a 5×7, but I also have a 10″ sub filling in the lows so it mixes pretty well. Not the best speaker in the world, but for a work truck they drown out the rattles and bangs of the tools.
So if you plan on getting these speakers be aware that the set screws might strip. Be prepared to solder wire leads into the tweeters.
