I was hesitant to purchase these speakers because of no other reviews. I should of known that all JL audio products are always the best in their class. You cant beat the price of these speakers. NO other speakers can compare for this price range.

I used to own Sony speakers but they sounded like crap and didn’t have enough sound only distortion when turned up. These speakers were cheaper and put a lot of bass in that I never thought a regular speaker could.

I installed these JL Audio 6×9″ speakers in my 2000 Buick Century to replace the old, blown stock speakers. I also upgraded the head unit to a bottom of the line Kenwood, so the speakers are being driven with a mass-produced Kenwood amp. The installation is pretty straight forward with nothing fancy added to enhance audio quality.

After installing the speakers and firing them up for the first time, I was astounded at the sonic clarity for the money! These 6×9″ speakers actually overpower the 5-1/4″ JL Audio speakers I also installed in the doors. I set the fader two settings forward to emphasize the front speakers and balance the sound. These speakers are very sensitive and also sport a hefty voice coil, which is a sign of good speaker quality. The high-end frequencies aren’t scratchy and shrill like other two-way speakers I’ve installed. For the money, I was really amazed at the quality. The bass is prominent and very clean down to ~40Hz (a level you can *feel* as well as hear) and the mid and high frequencies do not sound separate. They’re reproduced very cleanly and comfortably.

If you’re looking for a reasonably-priced set of speakers to install in your 6×9″ enclosures, you definitely will not go wrong with JL Audio. I highly recommend these speakers!

All there really is to say is that it definitely is a JL Audio product. Great highs and lows with a bass better than you would expect from a 6×9 speaker. Great product as it doesn’t distort at high volumes.
