This product’s sole purpose is to hard-wire the power from your car’s wiring system to the satellite radio unit instead of using the eyesore of a cigarette lighter adapter.
I believe installing this hard-wire kit is rather straight forward, however I didn’t like the fact that I would still have to strip one of my cars original wires and splice it with this hard-wire kit.
If you are like me and would like a really unfooled around with installation of your satellite radios power setup, then do what I did, buy a fuse tap.
A fuse tap can be bought at almost any auto parts store and is basically a small device which plugs into one of your cars existing fuse slots and provides a bare wire which you can then splice with the hard-wiring kits bare wire.
When buying a fuse tap, I would recommend you use the audio or radio fuse slot and be sure to buy the correct tap depending on the size of your fuse and the wattage.
Overall, this is an awesome hard-wiring kit which is essential in the process of hard-wiring the units power. My only gripe as I have mentioned is the fact that they do not include a fuse tap or at least inform you about going out and buying a tap to use in the installation rather then mangling your cars original wiring.

Much better than the cigarette lighter adapter. Install was a snap for me I do all of my own installs from my Direct TV dish to building my own computers. Oh and obviously my Sirius Sportster radio. I think if you are contemplating buying this you probably have the skill to install it.
