I drive a ‘98 Mitsu Eclipse GST and am running a Pioneer Premier head unit for the smaller speakers and a Pioneer GM-D8400M mono amp (300W RMS, peak 1200W) pushing this subwoofer. This Kenwood sub went in a custom made rectangular MDF box (1.12 cu. ft. volume) and it sounds absolutely awesome. Very clean, good and thumping bass that is really felt throughout the car and even a bit just outside it. I got this to replace my old 8″ Pioneer bandpass sub which after 10 years finally died. This Kenwood is easily better than the old sub.
I’m 44 but am an audiophile and like loud music of all types with good, solid bass. I don’t want however to have a “bass machine” intended to make other cars 100+ feet away feel MY bass – hear it a bit maybe but not feel it themselves. I bought this based on the excellent specs and positive reviews at this and other sites and also to preserve some trunk space staying in the 10″ class vs 12″. I am not at all disappointed and would buy this sub again.
Its a little surprising though that as of the time of this writing the 12″ sub is actually about $10 less here at Amazon than the 10″… go figure.

I was looking for a sub to replace my 10″ JL Audio which finally fell apart. The JL sub was wonderful, and I recommend them highly, but I didn’t want to spend that much money. I checked out the reviews of the Kenwood, which were very positive, so I chose it. I am very satisfied, and would strongly consider getting another one the next time around. I was looking for a sub that would give me good quality sound across the audio spectrum, rather than just the heavy boom that some people like. This sub does that very well. I would say that if you are just looking for a good quality, solid sub, and listen to everything but hop hop, you can’t go wrong with this one. Rock, folk, country, jazz, classical…all sound great with this sub. But remember that a good quality sub amp is important, too!

I ordered this Kenwood KFC-W2511 and they sent me a KFC-W2512? which is 5 dollars more expensive… Yeah, so I guess i can’t complain. If they want to give me more than I paid for that is fine with me! Haha. But down to the buisness. The sub I actually recieved is great! It looks awsome, has nice heavy construction, and it POUNDS! okay I haven’t hooked mine up yet but my friend got the same sub and amp as me, based on my reccomendation of Kenwood, and it sounds great!

I was in the market for something very light and small. i came across this sub and gave it a shot. well i use to have a sealed jlw3 in my evo, but that was very heavy box and sub… after installing this, total weight was about 35bs. not bad. this bass kicks nice and you fell it in your bones, and shakes my mirrors. now if you want a sub that will shake the bumper off your car or be heard outside this is not the sub for you. I listen to techno and rap and anything new. it hits the lows very nice when it comes to techno and blows hard when it comes to rap. so if you like nice thump in the confinement of your car, then this is your ticket.

I love’em! These subs deliver really deep, crisp sounding bass…I only have one and my rearview and sideview mirrors look like someone is shaking them with a jackhammer with vol turned to 18. I ranked them a 4 because no one will hear you beating down the block…but then again its not the early 90’s anymore
