Infinity 6829CF 300W

Product Description
The Kappa 682.9cf 5″”x7″”/6″”x8″” speakers feature light, but stiff woven glass-fiber woofer cones that won’t flex or distort. The Plus One design offers a larger surface area for improved low-frequency output and efficiency, while longer voice coils produce tighter, snappier bass. Large magnets keep the woofers running cooler by placing more steel close to the voice coils to act as a heat sink.

Simply put, these speakers will knock your face off. I had 4 of these (2 front, 2 back) installed in my Mustang that replaced my old Pioneer 6×8’s. What an upgrade. The difference was night and day. I use the Infinity’s as my source of mids and highs with 2 12″ Kicker Comp VR’s for my lows. I can’t make a judgment on how these produce bass, because that’s not what I use them for. I also have these speakers powered by a Power Acoustik 4-channel amp to really give em’ some juice. The clarity of these speakers just amazes me daily. My bass used to overpower the rest of the sound with my old Pioneers. Now I can hear singing, drums, and guitar extremely clearly, even with the bone shaking bass that I have going and all with zero distortion. My only complaint is that I wish I would have bought these sooner. I got 2 pairs off of eBay for $60 each, brand new. Try bargain shopping before you shell out $100 a pair for these. Even though they’re worth their full retail price, you can get them pretty cheap.

5 star rating without a doubt. Stop reading this review and buy these!

These speakers sound fantastic. Amazing range and response! However, the stupid external crossover has caused no end of trouble for me. You don’t have a lot of space to work with in a car door, so having that extra dangling box is a pain. Especially if the power window decides to catch on it and tear the thing right off. It wouldn’t be too hard for Infinity to attach the crossover to the speaker itself and save worlds of trouble. If not for this design issue this speaker would get 5 stars. If you’re thinking about putting them in a door with a power window, make EXTRA sure the glass won’t come near where the crossover is.

I just put four of these in my 2010 Mustang and they sound amazing. I was a little worried because I am using the stock headunit to power them, but they they have a high sensitivity rating and they are technically 2ohm so they sound fine without an amp.

They are a little weak at producing bass, so you will probably want to add a subwoofer. The mustang’s “shaker 500″ has two 8in subs that can pretty much make up for the missing bass, but I am still considering adding a sub to complete the system.

Some of the nice features include tweeters that you can aim and external crossovers, which is probably why they sound almost as good as components.

I replaced the factory speakers in my Ford Ranger with these and have been very pleased with the increase in clarity and tightness of the bass. At first they have a definite “disco smile” going on (referring to the smile shaped curve of graphic equalizers of old) tons of soaring highs and great bass. It takes about a month of good mid-volume listening to break them in. After the break in period the mids make their way through, rounding out the sound to something you would expect from your home system. These make my factory stereo sound like a high end head unit. Happy listening.

The sound quality is great… the build quality is astonishing. These have been manufactured to be tough and overbuilt. They play quite loud and clear with the “true 4-ohm” 2-ohm voice coil feature, even on 15 watts of deck power. I got mine used for $50 and the price/performance ratio is off the chart. There is better sound quality out there, but probably not at this price.
