If you want an in dash DVD unit without navigation, then this stereo is perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! . The touch screen is smooth and the interface is very easy to navigate around. When you plug in your iPod via usb cable you can control it via the touch screen. This is probably my favorite feature because its so easy and functional. The DVD picture quality is excellent and it plays DVD movies and music. Another great feature is that you have a USB in put that allow you to connect any portable thumb drive with wma or mp3 formatted music and simply play it. to top it off the crossover system in this unit is phenomenal

    It’s only been a week.

This is my second Sony system in my second 1998 Buick Riviera. The first, not the subject of this review, was a 1999 Sony Mobile ES system, with external high power amps, very high quality speakers, 12″ subwoofer, the works.

This unit, the Sony XAV-60 sounds better.

I want high quality music in my car; I don’t want thump, nor flashing stuff. I know where I’m going, so I didn’t care about navigation.

I mistakenly thought that the XAV-60 would provide me with a clean dash install, CD/DVD/iPod and Bluetooth support for a wireless phone. I was wrong about the Bluetooth. I didn’t figure that out until after I picked the car up from the installer.

And yet, I made the correct choice with the XAV-60. It’s gorgeous. The screen and display is amazing.

The sound – I’m using the XAV-60’s onboard amps, don’t have a subwoofer, have some cheap 5 1/2 in the front doors, and some Kicker 6×9 in the rear deck – that’s it.

It sounds miraculous. The EQ selections are spot on and produce noticeable changes in the sound reproduction. The center channel simulation works .. very well. The sound in this car is far superior to my $3500 system in the other Riviera.

iPod integration is very good, but not terrific. Perhaps it will get better with time and with more time spend organizing my iPod.

THIS DEVICE DOES NOT SUPPORT, NOR OFFER AN ADD-ON SUPPORT FOR BLUETOOTH DEVICES.

    Just so you know.

And, I don’t care. I’m not making calls in the car anymore, ’cause there’s too much amazing music to listen to.

I bought this item at a local audio system place here in the lower south texas. the cheapest i found it with all needed wires n harnest n $20 installation Was $478. This is the cheapest price online u will find for this remarkable machine. . My friends all have in dash dvd players but prefer mine cause of the crisp picture. One thing I hate about it Your Zune will not play on this. So i had to give it up N get a I pod touch. but besides that ill will recommend this to all I know.

Good nice all-in-one product, very easy to use menus with the touch screen, I’m using it with an external amp to power the speakers and a subwoofer so can’t comment on sound quality, but overall works as described and it’s a good choice for the price ($300), only complain would be that I find it a bit slow when reading large amounts of music from iPods and USB drives but I have seen this before with other units.
